- Contribution counts for more than credentials

- Resources get attracted, not allocated
- Power comes from sharing information, not hoarding it
- Opinions compound and decisions are peer-reviewed
- Users can veto most policy decisions
- Intrinsic rewards matter most
- Hackers are heroes
